xAI Launches Grok Imagine: A Free Video Generator for Everyone

Elon Musk's startup, xAI, has made its video generator, Grok Imagine, free for everyone. Users can now create short videos from images directly through the Grok app on Android and iOS. This move comes as a direct response to the recent launch of OpenAI's new GPT-5 model.

The feature was initially exclusive to Grok Super and Premium+ subscribers, but those restrictions have now been lifted. Grok Imagine, powered by the Aurora model, can generate videos up to 15 seconds long.

The generator offers three distinct modes:

  • Normal – for creating professional-looking videos.

  • Fun – for playful and entertaining content.

  • Spicy – for sensitive content, which is subject to strict moderation.

While Grok Imagine may not yet match the quality of industry leaders like Google Veo 3 and OpenAI Sora, its widespread availability makes it an appealing tool for anyone looking to experiment with generative AI.
